Well finally some good news to pass onto all of you from Westies after
it seems the only time sending emails to you all over the last few
months have been for death notices.
Ben Butler became the clubs 15 Whyalla News Medallist last night winning
in the last round and also made it 3 years in a row for Westies winning
the Whyalla News Medal. He needed 3 votes from the last game of the year
against North and with the North player rested for the last game Ben got
the 3 votes in a really close medal count. A great effort considering
the last game of the year was only a couple of days after his dad Clive
had passed away.
Josh Waugh won the U14s Whyalla News Medallist which got the night off
to a great start for the club. Josh has had a wonderful year and won by
about 14 votes from his team mate Lewis McLauchlan in equal second.
Shannon
Winders finished equal 4th in the League,
Anthony Manfield equal 3rd in Reserves, and Nicolas
Marino finished 4th in the U12s medal count.
