I thought that I had seen everything at the footy over the years, however week before last whilst getting a cuppa at the canteen I was met, on turning around, by a 2mtr Python staring straight at me!!. Nearly had to go home to change!!. The kids loved it but I really do not think that it is the right place to bring a pet!

Marvellous how a considerable number of strong tall players were available for their clubs this week and not to represent Whyalla!!!. Some of these guys should have a good look at themselves as they are taking plenty but not giving much!!. The youngsters who played did well but we need the stronger bodies at Interleague level.

Bennett Oval is getting better each week and the work the league has undertaken is certainly paying off.

Well done to John Taylor from North who played his 400th Senior game for North's this week. He is also the League runner and a great North stalwart. In fact he is one of those unsung heroes who doesn't like the limelight.

North celebrated their 90th birthday on Saturday and good to see a lot of their stalwarts from the 79 final side at the game.

Good to see Ryan McInerney doing well at the Port Magpies, also the son of former South player Colin Kirkwood (Zac) is doing very well. Josh Walker is playing well in the reserves and must surely get a shot in the near future.

North Whyalla and Weeroona Bay played the Beaton/Dempsey shield on the weekend and whilst it is only in it's third year there will be great rivalry and tradition build up with this game in future years.

Very disappointing to see LACK of results handed in from the Junior games on the weekend...are the Junior Clubs really supporting the Juniors??...went through the Junior results this season and was not surprised on the result!!!!!

Under 10's       Under 12's
Round 1 West Whyalla     Round 1
Round 2       Round 2
Round 3 Weeroona Bay Central Whyalla   Round 3 North Whyalla Central Whyalla
Round 4       Round 4 South Whyalla
Round 5       Round 5 West Whyalla
Round 6 Roopena     Round 6
Round 7 North Whyalla South Whyalla Roopena Round 7

Although only half way through the football season, it is a disturbing trend...just hope whoever does the website next year - receives a better result.....
