Jim Huish
will play his 500th Club Game
v South on Saturday 22nd July
2006 at Bennett Oval.
After playing
Junior Football with Centrals, Jim started
his Senior Career in 1972, which is before
many of his current team mates were born. He
is now in his 35th year of Senior Football
with the Central Football Club.
His 500 games
are made up of 78 League Games & 422
Reserves Games. He has kicked 31 League
Goals & 435 Reserves Goals. He was made a
Life Member of the Central Whyalla Football
Club in 1982 & Life Member of the Whyalla
Football League in 1994. Jim has also
captained the Central Reserves in 1985,
1986, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1995 & 1996. Jim
coached the Central Reserves in 1991 & 1992.
His coaching career then continued in 1996,
1997 & 1998 when he coached the Under 121/2’s
and coached the Under 15’s with Trevor
Callary in 2000.
In his
35-years he has played in 11 Premierships.
He played in the League Premiership in 1974
& played in Reserves Premierships in 1973,
1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1985, 1986, 1987,
1989 & 2001. Jim also played Football for
Lincoln South in 1978 & Kelly in 1988.
This is truly
a magnificent achievement from one of our
great Club men. His next birthday will be
his 53rd and barring any injuries
there is no reason if he desires, he could
not continue playing in 2007.
